The Series
Despite the prominence of a select few women musicians like Shakira, Brittany Spears, and Beyoncé, women represent a significant minority of musicians in the US. According to the last census only 34% of professional musicians are women. This number is especially odd when you consider that there are more women than men in the US. In response to all this, Roxi Copland is joining forces with the Des Moines Social Club and fabulous female artists from around the country for a celebration of women in music. And best of all -each show is only $5.
